1. Introduction
Welcome to StageBook. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the StageBook mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by StageBook ("we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
StageBook is a private workspace application designed for bands and musicians to manage song charts, lyrics, setlists, and live performance tools. The Service includes:
- AI-powered song import and chord detection
- ChordPro song editing and management
- Setlist creation and organization
- Stage Mode for live performances
- Band collaboration with shared workspaces and email invitations
- Offline access to content
3. Accounts and Registration
To use StageBook, you must create an account using a valid email address or a third-party authentication provider (such as Google or Apple Sign-In). You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate and current account information
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
4. Subscription Plans
4.1 Free Plan
The Free plan provides limited access to StageBook features, including up to 3 band members, 15 songs per band, 2 setlists per band, and 3 AI imports per day per band.
4.2 Pro Plan
The Pro plan is available for a monthly fee (or equivalent in your local currency) and provides increased limits on members, songs, setlists, and AI imports. Pricing is subject to change with reasonable advance notice.
4.3 Billing
Pro subscriptions are billed through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). The band owner is responsible for the subscription payment. The subscription auto-renews monthly unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your app store account settings. Upon cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your band reverts to the Free plan limits. Your data is not deleted upon downgrade.
5. Content Ownership
5.1 Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to the content you create, upload, or import into StageBook, including but not limited to song lyrics, chord charts, arrangements, setlists, and any associated metadata. We do not claim ownership of your content.
5.2 License Grant
By uploading content to StageBook, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. This license terminates when you delete your content or account.
5.3 Shared Content
When you share content within a band workspace, other band members can view and interact with that content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you add to a band workspace.
6. AI-Generated Content
StageBook uses artificial intelligence to process and convert imported materials (images, PDFs, text) into structured ChordPro format. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated output may contain errors in chord detection, lyric transcription, or song structure
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use
- AI processing is provided "as is" without guarantees of accuracy
- We may use third-party AI services (such as Google Gemini) to process your imported content
- Imported materials are processed for the sole purpose of generating song charts and are not used to train AI models
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
- Upload or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, or offensive
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service
- Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content
- Share invitation codes publicly or sell access to band workspaces
- Abuse the AI import feature by submitting content unrelated to music or song charts
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent Free plan limitations
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by StageBook and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements without prior written permission.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that the songs and lyrics you import, store, and share through StageBook do not violate the copyright or other intellectual property rights of third parties. StageBook is a tool for managing your own material and does not provide licenses to copyrighted music.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service, other users, or third parties. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of severe violations.
You may delete your account at any time through the Settings screen in the app. Upon deletion, your personal data and content will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StageBook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StageBook from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
